► 9 février – 22h | Durée 1h10 | ► Manège/Côté jardin / En français

“I’m the image of my town: young already too old. ‘I’ with no rules of the game…simply a product of the fire”.   This story is that of a young man which could be the story of anyone. Mochélan grew up in a decaying industrial town, voted “the ugliest town in the world” in a Dutch survey. Mochélan rose to recount, poetise and knead this urban material. Together on stage with the musician Rémon Jr, and directed by Jean-Michel Van den Eeyden, they retrace the course of a youth which rebels, breaks free, spills its guts rather than lets things get it down. This young writer casts a clear and biting glance at his surroundings but also at his own journey, with no pre-conceived responses. A journey not without hitches or diversions, which can resonate with everyone, and reveal the issues everyone has on the threshold of adulthood. A scenic presentation which is enhanced by sound and visual poetry allowing the word to take off. We ask the right questions, we want to take care of our lungs, heal the sickness of this century”. Yes, there must be other options than chewing the black dust.
